Rio by night: Somewhat off the tourist beaten tracks

“Oh yes, remember that time when we were in Rio?” “It was soooo beautiful…and the sunset…just amazing!” Well yes, this is the normal reaction of people travelling to Rio de Janeiro – but with a distance to the Sugar Loaf, the Christ Statue and all this Copacabana tam-tam, I just came across this wonderful place in the district of Santa Teresa – the “Dos Descasados” bar. Due to it’s half oriental/half brazilian interior design, it really offers a unique atmosphere and was even elected “most romantic bar” in Rio de Janeiro.

The bar belongs to a high class hotel named “Santa Teresa”, offering a very nice pool lounge as well, where you can enjoy a marvelous view over Rio de Janeiro and the Santa Teresa District. By the way: Amy Winehouse also stayed there, when she gave her last concert in Rio.
